Former TikTok executive will develop infrastructure for GameFi – Bits Media

Former director of TikTok's gaming division Jason Fung said, that is leaving the company, to launch a startup to integrate video games with the Meta0 blockchain.

Jason Fung (Jason Fung) stated, that he left “his comfortable corporate life” at TikTok, to go to “giant risk” and launch GameFi deployment platform – Meta0. Fung reported, that within the framework of the project he intends to ensure the expansion of Meta0 as a holistic ecosystem of game developers, as well as attracting partners and L1/L2 blockchains to interact with Meta0 as a Layer protocol-0.

He added, who will lead fundraising companies, partnerships and other strategic startup decisions. Fung states, that Meta0 will provide greater compatibility between existing blockchains, than previously proposed projects. Thanks to this, game developers will be able to integrate the maximum number of blockchains to implement their projects.

"Now, when a developer implements NFT or blockchain into their games, he must select one network, be it Polygon, Solana or Binance Smart Chain. But imagine a more compatible option.", – Fung explained the concept.

He added, that he left TikTok, to solve one of the most common problems in the GameFi industry - the lack of properly accessible blockchain infrastructure for developers. Like many cryptocurrency startups, Meta0 will raise capital through token sales and negotiations with venture capitalists and strategic investors.

According to February data from the analytical service DappRadar, in January of this year alone, investors invested $1 billion in GameFi - that’s a quarter of the amount, which the industry has attracted over the entire 2021 year.
