EU invests in blockchain and other emerging technologies – Bits Media

Investments in blockchain and digital technologies will become part of a large-scale program to support the economy in the EU countries. The cost of the program is estimated at $887 billion.

About a fifth of this amount is about $177 billion - will go to the development of digital technologies. 

As the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen said (Ursula von der Leyen), in addition to blockchain, funds will be used to create infrastructure, development of 5G technologies, development of low power processors, digital transformation projects and creation of secure quantum communication methods.

Projects will be distributed between several EU countries. The number of projects in each category is not yet known, as well as the volume of their financing.
