US Department of Homeland Security Provides Grants to Five Blockchain Startups

Research department cooperates with companies departments - Department of Science and Technology (S&T). As part of joint work, startups will be allocated funds to finance development, and the total investment amount will be $817 712. 

Initially, the department chose from 80 applications. The list of companies includes Mattr Limited, Mesur.io, SecureKey Technologies, Mavennet Systems и Spherity GmbH. Mattr Limited will work on digitizing working licenses, issued by the Citizenship and Immigration Service.

Mesur.io plans to use blockchain to track toxins, pathogens and other hazardous substances in various supply chains. SecureKey Technologies develops a digital version of the social security number, at the same time, it is the owner who will have full control over the identity.

Mavennet Systems будет с помощью блокчейна отслеживать поставки природного газа между США и Канадой, and Spherity GmbH will create a system for backing up packages of documentation for the delivery of goods.

The amount of grants differs for each company. Mattr Limited will receive the most funds - $200 000. The smallest amount of funds will be transferred to Mavennet - $86 100.

Recall, what Canada has previously invested in 150 000 Canadian dollars to the Mavennet-developed blockchain platform for tracking steel shipments.
