Nvidia программно ограничит хэшрейт видеокарт RTX 3060 и запустит чипы CMP для майнеров - Bits Media

The largest manufacturer of NVIDIA video accelerators decided to deal with video cards deficiency at the software level, which redeem miners. At the same time, a special series of chips for mining will be developed.

On the video cards RTX 3060 through the drivers, the hash will be cut into 50%. At the same time, the company is not going to lose a huge demand from the miners. For them, a special chip for the production of cryptocurrencies NVIDIA CMP has been announced (Cryptocurrency Mining Processor).

When developing NVIDIA CMP, engineers optimized the chip for maximum mining efficiency. The voltage on the chip nuclei is reduced, As well as frequencies, But the cooling is improved. Besides, These cards are deprived of video outputs to reduce the cost of production. Mining cards will appear on the market already at the end of the first quarter, or at the beginning of the II quarter.

“The creation of specialized products for customers with special needs is the best way. With the help of CMP, we will help miners in the construction of the most effective datasants, But at the same time, we will save the GeForce RTX video cards for gamers ", —
reported on the company's blog.

NVIDIA RTX video cards 3060 will enter the market already 25 february, but they will not be so interesting for miners:

“RTX drivers 3060 will determine the load on the video card, specific for the Ethereum mining algorithm. If such a load is detected, the hashrate will be a software method by about 50%. ".

Nothing has been said about other mining algorithms yet, But perhaps restrictions will be introduced for them.

In mid -January it was already reported, that NVIDIA is considering the possibility of resuming the release of specialized video cards for cryptocurrency mining. Previously, video cards for mining on the graphic chips NVIDIA have already been produced, but for the corresponding GTX game video cards 1060 and gtx 1070 no restrictions were introduced.
