Deribit Cryptocurrency Director John Jensen (John Jansen) reported, that users are required to undergo verification before next year.
Today, Deribit has two levels of identification. Zero -level customers should provide only basic information: Name, Email, date of birth and address. At this level, it is allowed to display before 1 BTC и 50 ETH. The first level provides for an unlimited withdrawal of funds - for this you need to provide a passport and document, confirming address of residence. In accordance with the advanced KYC procedure, Soon such requirements will be applied to all users of the exchange.
Jensen added, that Deribit complies with the necessary precautions. The exchange regularly performs IP address checks, and for several years has been blocking the accounts of US citizens. Some users have already received Deribit notifications on closing access to the platform, Since they are US residents. Jensen explained, that these users can really be citizens of this country, However, in most cases, customers simply switch to American IP, Therefore, they can receive such a notification.
Recall, that recently the Bitmex exchange has reduced the deadlines for mandatory verification for customers to 5 November. This was facilitated by the proceedings of the exchange with the Commission for Trade Futures of the United States (CFTC), accusing Bitmex of violating KYC and Aml Rules.
