The prosecutor's office of the Irkutsk region organized a raid to identify and eliminate violations of federal legislation, associated with the installation of equipment for illegal mining.

The department organized joint work with regional administrations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, EMERCOM, Rospotrebnadzor, as well as services of state housing supervision of the region and energy -busting organizations. The initiative was aimed at identifying and suppressing illegal cryptocurrency mining.

As a result of the audit, in a number of settlements, it was found and seized from above 9 000 units of mining equipment. Illegal miners were fined for 300 000 rubles, Administrative cases have been instituted against them for violations of fire safety requirements and placement of equipment for mining in the attics of apartment buildings.

Law enforcement agencies pay attention to entrepreneurs and individuals, to that, that the consequences of illegal mining can represent risks for the life and health of citizens due to emergency shutdown of electricity, noise from equipment work and fire safety threats.

This year, energy sales companies sent more to the judicial authorities 400 claims for recovery from citizens of the Irkutsk region, illegally installing mining equipment, fees for electricity at an increased rate. The courts made positive decisions in the amount of about 100 million rubles.

All information about the identified illegal miners is sent to the Federal Tax Service in the Irkutsk Region. Based on the results of the tax control measures, The total amount of declared income from mining activities was about 3.5 million rubles.

In June it became known, that the organizers of the mining hotel in the Irkutsk region, entineling customers with profitable prices for rental and electricity rental, hid with their equipment for the total amount 100 million rubles.
