Korean electronics manufacturer Samsung continues to expand into the NFT and metaverse by launching an electronic version of its flagship store 837X on the Decentraland platform.
According to the Samsung website, the virtual store replicates its physical one prototype, located in Manhattan in New York. The new store on the Decentraland platform is called 837X.
“This is one of the largest launches of any brand on the Decentraland virtual platform.”, – Samsung said in a statement.
A virtual cinema will be launched based on the 837X store, broadcasting Samsung news from the Consumer Electronics Show (CES). It should "allow guests to learn more about Samsung's fast connections and solutions".
Also, a new site based on Decentraland will talk about Samsung’s tree planting initiative. In partnership with the Veritree platform based on the Cardano blockchain, the company plans to land 2 million trees in the first quarter 2022 of the year.
Senior Vice President of Corporate Marketing and Communications at Samsung Electronics America Michelle Crossan-Matos (Michelle Crossan-Matos) noted:
“The Metaverse allows us to overcome physical and spatial limitations and create unique experiences, which would otherwise be impossible. Innovation is in our DNA and we look forward to..., when everyone gets acquainted with this fast-growing virtual world".
Previously reported, that in several lines of Samsung smart TVs it will be possible to purchase collectible tokens.
