Russian broker "Tinkoff Investments" is considering various projects, related to cryptoassets, but due to the regulatory situation in Russia it is too early to talk about them.
As told
Director of Tinkoff Investments Dmitry Panchenko, the topic of cryptocurrencies itself the company is interested, but Russian brokers cannot offer such services yet.
“There are different approaches, but it's difficult to discuss, By law, brokers cannot offer this service. The market is in the research and development stage for a range of instruments, some new business ideas. We are watching, what is there in the world, to that, what's going on at robinhood, Revolut, PayPal. We see this evolution, but this is not happening in Russia yet".
Speaking at the Ural conference NAUFOR “Russian stock market” Panchenko noted, that the volume of investments by Russians in digital assets is estimated at approximately $15 billion. Residents of Russia receive services for working with cryptocurrencies and other digital assets from foreign companies. Of course, this amount of money should remain in Russia, however, current legislation does not allow this.
At the same time, the director of Tinkoff Investments emphasized, that Russian clients view cryptocurrencies as an investment instrument:
“We see demand specifically for investment purposes, not for the purpose of being used as a means of payment or as a means of transporting assets, namely, as an investment instrument for investments and potential profit".
Recall, that the Central Bank of Russia “discovered”
a new type of financial pyramids using cryptocurrencies - online investment games.
