Three Muscovites lost 17.7 million rubles when trying to buy cryptocurrencies – Bits Media

Scammers, whose identity has not yet been established, kidnapped from three Muscovites 17.7 million rubles. The victims tried to buy cryptocurrency with these funds, but we never received digital assets.

According to a TASS agency source in the capital's law enforcement agencies bodies, a criminal case was initiated on (guide. 4 Art. 159 UK RF) about fraud on a particularly large scale. If the scammers can be caught, then they could face imprisonment 10 years old.

“In the office in 1st Krasnogvardeisky Proezd, house 22, structure 2, unknown persons, by deception, under the pretext of replenishing an electronic cryptocurrency wallet, took possession of the funds of three men. The total amount of damage he caused was 17 770 970 rubles", – said the agency’s interlocutor.

Earlier, Russian law enforcement agencies reported the arrest of a suspect in the development of a computer virus to steal bitcoins from cryptocurrency wallets. Using his malware, the hacker was able to steal from a Moscow resident 20 BTC.
