Head of the State Duma Committee on Financial Markets, Speaking at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, stated, that cryptocurrency mining in Russia can become legal not earlier 2024 of the year.

Anatoly Aksakov spoke to the participants of the profile section of the PMEF, dedicated to the issues of mining of crypto assets. The State Duma plans to complete the coordination of the bills necessary for the legalization of mining only in the fall 2023 of the year, made the deputy to understand.

The chairman of the committee recalled, that the use of crypto assets obtained by miners will only be possible in international calculations and only with foreign partners. Within the country, operations will be strictly prohibited.

According to the deputy, The legalization of the local mining market will not have any significant impact on the country's economy, And the government has the goal - to legalize an existing business.

Unlike Anatoly Aksakov, Director of the Department of Financial Policy of the Ministry of Finance Ivan Chebeskov is of a different opinion.

“According to the calculations of the Ministry of Finance, The profit of Russian miners is order 100 billion rubles. That is, under current conditions, the budget revenues from taxation of the industry could be approximately 20 billion rubles. If the government created the right prerequisites for the development of mining, then multiple growth is possible, And accordingly, proportional growth of tax revenues to the budget ", - said Chebeskov at the PMEF session.

Earlier Anatoly Aksakov said, that the adoption of laws on mining crypto acts was postponed before the consideration of bills on administrative and criminal liability for the extraction and circulation of cryptocurrencies.
