The State Committee of National Security of Kyrgyzstan reported the discovery of an underground mining farm in the house of the newly appointed head of the Cholpon-Ata Distribution Zone.

He worked for a long time in various positions at the Cholpon-Ata Distribution Zone, therefore, it was not difficult for him to connect mining equipment bypassing the counter. The most interesting thing is, that the suspect was appointed to the position of director of the power plant today, 8 December.

“At the place of residence of the suspect, the fact of theft of electricity in significant quantities was established, since the specified mining farm was connected bypassing the electricity meter. Working in the power grid, He, despite the energy crisis in the country caused by the low water cycle, using your official position, engaged in theft of electricity, thereby damaging the energy security of the Kyrgyz Republic", - noted in the press release.

Now investigators are counting and assessing the amount of electricity stolen by the miner and the overall damage, inflicted on the state.
