Investor and Quantum Fund co-founder Jim Rogers expressed skepticism about central bank digital currencies. He considers, that the future of money lies in cryptocurrencies.
Two years ago, the famous American investor Jim Rogers (Jim Rogers) was considered a cryptocurrency skeptic and called Bitcoin a bubble, which will burst sooner or later. However, he is now starting to change his mind about digital assets due to the policies of the US Federal Reserve (FRS).
Rogers stated, that he has lost confidence in the Fed and other central banks, still printing gigantic amounts of money. This only aggravates the situation and does not contribute in any way to strengthening the exchange rate of state currencies, Rogers sure. He commented on the prospects for the US dollar:
"I don't like to say it, but the USA is the largest debtor country in world history. After the start of the military operation of Russian troops on the territory of Ukraine, The US simply blocked Russia's assets. This worries people, that's why they are looking for something, what could replace the US dollar or compete with it".
Co-founder of Quantum Fund said, that he now has no confidence in central bank digital currencies either, since these assets are controlled by governments, So, and belong to them.
Answering a question, does he own bitcoins?, investor said, that I didn’t invest in cryptocurrencies. But if Bitcoin were worth from $1 to $5 for a coin, the investor would not miss such an opportunity and would buy it.
Overall, Rogers believes, that cryptocurrencies have good prospects. However, if Bitcoin and other crypto assets develop too quickly and successfully, most regulators may outlaw them, because governments "don't like competition and don't want to lose their monopoly", Rogers warned.
Former head of one of Bank of America's divisions David Wu (David Woo) on the contrary, he thinks, that the digital dollar can seriously compete with Bitcoin. In his opinion, US authorities will not ban Bitcoin due to political tensions.
