Moonbirds NFT Collection Has Received Significant Attention, and scammers decided to take advantage of this - a large-scale fraudulent campaign was launched on the social network Twitter.

Fraudsters gain access to verified Twitter accounts, change username to Moonbirds attract victims with statements about additional token release. To participate in the NFT distribution, users are asked to go to a phishing site and connect their cryptocurrency wallet there. Criminals can then gain access to the user's assets.

"These are scammers, who buy verified Twitter accounts and pretend to be people, involved in the Moonbirds project", – written by Justin Mezzell (Justin Mezzell), co-founder of Proom Collective, behind the NFT collection.

At the same time, it is not clear, do scammers really buy verified accounts?, or gain access to them by hacking. However, they used the verified account of the son of US Senator Bernie Sanders (Bernie Sanders) Levi Sanders (Levi Sanders).

At this moment, Apparently, Levi regained control of his account. Note, that the Twitter policy does not stipulate the actions of the social network in relation to scammers, who hack verified accounts to deceive users.

Note, that the volume of trading in Moonbirds collection tokens exceeded $200 million over the weekend and $290 million for 4 the day. Earlier, the top manager of the large cryptocurrency exchange Kraken, Curtis Ting, said, that scammers are “poisoning” the crypto industry and they “are destined for a separate warm place in hell”.
