Darknet market exchanger Hydra was selling BTC for 1 RUB million cheaper than the real exchange rate – Bits Media

Banned darknet marketplace Hydra has lost significant sums due to "human factor". The administrators of the exchanger set the BTC ruble rate at 30% below real.

On Friday 13 August, Ublhs users noticed, what is the dollar rate of bitcoin in exchanger Hydra corresponded to the real, and the ruble was lower by 1 million. If on the market bitcoin traded at 3.3 million rubles, then on the darknet market 1 BTC could be bought for 2.3 million. Of course, many users immediately took advantage of the opportunity to increase their capital by 30% in a few minutes.

Unfortunately unknown, how much the owners of the exchange service lost. Hydra administration did not answer journalists' questions. It is worth noting, that the illegal Hydra market is focused on Russian users, therefore, most exchange operations with cryptocurrencies take place in rubles.

At the time of publication, bitcoin is trading at $ 47,300, which in ruble terms is 3.47 million rubles.
